Mai Nguyen is the creator of IAMAI – in the beginning, solely focusing on clothing. With time and appreciation for many art forms, Nguyen decided that she wanted to offer more than just that. IAMAI aims to be a space for the community offering service & retail. Rift Furniture is a Houston, TX based furniture design and fabrication studio. Works are crafted in house by Erin Flynn. All pieces are constructed using traditional joinery methods and solid wood.
What is your favorite design book?
[MN:] "The Photographs of Carla de Benedetti. Interiors '70" by Giovanni Odoni. The book inspires me in so many different ways: photography, colors, space concepts, lighting (capturing the emotions in each setting).
What is your favorite design object?
[RF:] Whistling Tea Kettle by Harry Bramson. A perfect example of form and function.
