What is your favorite design book?
Contemporary African Art by Sidney Littlefield Kasfir / Publisher: Thames & Hudson. This is one of my most cherished Goodwill finds - When it comes down to it, I feel as though it takes a considerable amount of digging to find books that cover African Art in a way that acknowledges the cultural diversity. This book also posed to me one of my favorite questions to ponder: is the 'post' in postcolonial the same and as the 'post' in postmodern? - Check it out if you feel like learning about some kickass African artists.
What is your favorite design object?
Olivetti Typewriter. This typewriter serves as both a functional reminder of the merit of analog devices and as a beautiful object that adds a pop of color to my space with its canary yellow housing and red and white keys. It's definitely one of the first things I reach for during digital detox, though I would be lying if I said I used it as much as it deserved to be.
